Stress & Sleep

Learn how persistent, chronic stress may be contributing to long-term symptoms and overall sub-optimal health. Let us help you find solutions that can help you get back to being able to enjoy work, life and play.

Who can benefit?

All individuals who are:

  • Increasingly low in energy, exhausted, tired & wired
  • Experiencing disrupted sleep patterns, not waking up feeling refreshed, anxiety & panic attacks, dizziness; irritability, brain fog, difficulty concentrating
  • Relying on caffeine and snacks to get through the day, struggling with weight and cravings
  • Noticing new symptoms appearing including digestive complaints, aches and pains, low libido, hay fever or skin issues such as eczema, hives
  • Increasingly susceptible to catching the seasonal cold or flu bug, and may also stay sick for longer.
  • Looking for a new approach to stress management

Which tests may be recommended?

We frequently recommend the assessing stress response by testing adrenal and sex hormones. Because stress often has a direct impact on nutrient status, hormone balance and gut function, we may also consider a nutritional and metabolic profile, sex hormone, and comprehensive stool tests.

How long until I start to feel better?

This is very individual but we recommend a minimum commitment of 3-6 months to experience benefits. For individuals with complex chronic conditions or those who have not been sleeping well for some time (i.e. have a disrupted circadian rhythm), please expect to make a commitment of 3-12 months.

Most individuals will have likely been pushing through extended periods of chronic stress for years, sometimes decades – and so it would only make sense to expect to be patient and give your body the time it deserves to get well again for the long run.
